1) I think you could definitely make it as as professional, although you would benefit from an editor. I write some for my friends, and I know it's annoying when they keep bugging me for updates and I'm too busy with school and real life to do much. Eventually DB will get done. That's good enough for me.

I read them in .doc format if I'm at my own computer, or the HTML online if I'm on someone else's computer. It's nice to be able to have both.

I don't know, some of the book endings were pretty big cliffhangers too. It is a good way to stay interested, and it really makes rereading it fly by.

True, but it's going to be hard to tell if that was just a cheap theatrical effect until book 7.  The spell could have gotten caught on some sort of defenses.

I remember finding Eragon in a Walmart before there was any big publicity about it.... I started reading it to waste time, and ended up buying it the next time I went shopping, because I couldn't wait to see how it ended. I'll probably get Eldest in a few weeks, once I get a paycheck.

Fel posts whenever he gets done. Sometimes that's as soon as every two or three weeks, and sometimes it takes longer than that because (as this thread has mentioned) Fel has a life outside of writing.

Brooks also wrote the Magic Kingdom for Sale: Sold! books and the Word and the Void trilogy (Running with the Demon, Knight of the Word, Angel Fire East). Sometimes I think those series were better than a few of the Shannara books.

Take care of real life first. We can wait.  We'll appreciate the chapter whenever it comes.
