Actually, those aren't the really big ones. The Gambian Pouched Rat, Cricetomys gambianus, can attain upwards of 3 feet (91 cm) in size from nose to base of tail;
and the Caviomorphs of South America regularly top the scales at over 200 lb (90 kg) in weight.
