A new trilogy called The Night Angel by Brent Weeks
The Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal is so mind-bogglingly stupid that it assumes that if you can't see it, then it can't see you.
Re: Good Books (Scifi)
Bean Free Library has 3 new books on it:
http://www.baen.com/library/We've added three new titles to the Library today. The First three books in Jeffery Carver's "The Chaos Chronicles":
Jeffery A. Carver, Neptune Crossing, Strange Attractors, The Infinite Sea
The Mizriath Jihad is on hold.....for the moment
Hilarious and exciting sci-fi ebook
The second chance series by R Richard on fictionwise
http://www.fictionwise.com/eBooks/rrich ... .htm?cache
I almost posted it in "link to good reading" but the trend there seem to be for free web-reads. so this thread is probably the correct one, as it's not quite free
A nice e-book I discovered a while ago. Nothing earthshaking and certainly not high litterature, but an hilarious funny and fresh read. just good and very original yarn.
How original? well the hero or antihero as the case might be, has absolutely no morals lol
For the themes, you have magic, space ships, martial arts, politics, alien civilizations, high tech, and psionics. there are currently 6 ebooks in the series:
Anyway, I greatly enjoyed them. I thought I'd share. Try the first book for size. it's a bit like the Stainless steel rat on steroids

Re: Good Books (Scifi)
I've just finished reading "Sandman Slim" by Richard Kadrey. Excelent book, modern time fantasy.

Re: Good Books (Scifi)
Oddly enough, I just finished reading "Sandman Slim" as well and I agree, very good book.
I recommend checking out "A Madness of Angels" by Kate Griffin. Very good read - it has an interesting take on modern day magic.
Also check out the "Death's Head" books by David Gunn. 3 Books so far, not sure if this is meant to be a trilogy or series. These are military/sci-fi.

i must have read this like 5 times if you like dark fantasyshane771574 wrote:A new trilogy called The Night Angel by Brent Weeks
amazing trilogy if you liked those try the prince of nothing trilogy and the painted man series (only 1 book out so far), theres also the chronicles of the necromancer book which is kinda similar. Also the sundering (2 book series) by by Jacqueline Carey, composed of Banewreaker, and Godslayer are really really good reads.
(snipped)
The deaths head books are amusing, reminds me of the orphans series by Buetner, the Clone series by Kent and the Vampire Earth series also.

almost as longs as you've been a member here .......so it's kinda understandable that things change in 5 years.
you have to always check the dates on things here.
Hell the author dosen't even go by the name ellagon any more ...he's now known as Sir Winston and has his own site.

i know a lot of these may be outdated but others aren't and haveing them is always nice when your looking for
something posted long ago..or something you may not have read yet
it's alwasy nice to still be able to find clues to where and when to start looking ...also others here can lots of times
be big helps in remembering this and that and knowing tid bits as well.
thanks for helping though it would have been useful to know.
